Destiny of the Gnome - the 72 Hour Film Festival's missing film

Edward A. Murphy, Jr. strikes again...

This last weekend, I participated in the 72 hour film contest. I completed a film. On time. It did not, however, ever make it down to the Grand Cinema to be turned in. The first half of the following video is the film itself...the second half explains the rest.

CAST (in alphabetical order)
The Producer: Charles Ames
R.R. Anderson: R.R. Anderson (scenes deleted - watch for the extended cut!)
Bubbles: Hillary Barzilla
Bob Gasse: Paul Ford
Steve Buck: Gadsby Glasrud
Sid O. Koo: Nathe Lawver (scenes deleted - watch for the extended cut!)
Delouise DeLuise: Andrea Trenbeath Lowen
William Power: Adam J. Manley
Constance Lee Gasse: Kristie Worthey

CREW (in no particular order)
Adam J. Manley: Director/Producer/Editor
Charles Ames: Assistant Director, Cookie Corraling
Kristie Worthey: Cookie Continuity
Hillary Barzilla: Cookie Crumbling
Paul Ford: Cookie Consuming
Andrea Trenbeath Lowen: Bubble Blower
Nathe Lawver: Narrator

The solemn music at the end is "Everything is Going to Be Okay" by Sad Music for Happy Humans. Check SMfHH out at www.happyhumans.org or at myspace.com/sadmusicforhappyhumans. The music that interrupts it is a generic royalty-free sample loop.

MY bro! (Ha ha.)

Wow ... Kiddo, I can't wait to see the editor's cut! Not sure if that's how I intended those chocolate chip cookies to be used. That was a bit of a surprise. Thanks for not using a wide shot of the kitchen! Yet? Eek!

Quite an excellent show! Thank you for the opportunity. I am still amazed I was able to make a couple of film events this weekend, thank you for being so flexible!

Wow. Nice piece and coverage of Frost Park Chalk Off, immortalizing it forever in another U Tube video. I think I left Frost Park just moments before you shot the footage.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work Adam as well as the extended version of this.

Interesting comparison - I was aiming more in the Christopher Guest realm of things, but looking back at it, I can see what you mean. Not surprising that Kaufman's influence would creep in, since Being John Malkovitch and Adaptation are among my favorite movies.

However, I've a long way to go before I attain the level of either Mr. Kaufman or Mr. Guest.

It's not how I intended them to be used, either...nor did I intend that scene to take place indoors. But it was raining, and the cookies were there, and I thought "Hey! Product placement!" Anyone for Gnome Num cookies?

(I make no promises as to whether any wide shots of the kitchen will or will not appear. I do promise that I ate all the cookies that may have ended up with bubble gunk on them. And many of those that didn't, as well.)

Quite an excellent show! Thank you for the opportunity.
Thank you for agreeing to be my star! It was an absolute joy working with you!

There's a lot more chalk-off stuff in the extended cut, including a cameo by Mr. R.R. Anderson.

A question, though: may I ask why you always say "U Tube" instead of "YouTube"? Just curious, since you're so consistent with it.

Highly entertaining. Nicely done.
Thank you!

The compliments here, and the support I've received in messages, comments elsewhere and in other shapes and forms...I just can't thank you all enough for it. After the breakdown I had Sunday night (no sleep plus being so close yet so far plus technical difficulties equals A;LKSJEALID;F ADAM SMASH! ...And then Adam cry. And then ADAM SMASH! And then Adam cry. And so forth)...well, all the support has been just what I needed. Thank you all so much.

Nice work to Adam and his crew! I'm really sorry that so much crap happened to you but hopefully that doesn't matter. You participated and got your work out nonetheless. You're a talented guy Adam and I look forward to plenty more from you in the future. Cheers!

That was hilarious. Great work.

I think I hear my cell phone ringing in one of those Frost Park scenes.
