Please shop local this holiday season
I feel like lately my blog entries have turned into nothing but commercials for whichever project I'm working on at the moment. I hope you'll forgive that, its just that when I get going on something, especially something that I really believe in, I tend to get a bit single minded about it. Right now I'm working on a new event called Winterfest. I've been hired by Foss Waterway Seaport to organize it. I wanted this event to be something that helps the community and does something good for the planet. I know, I think big. It's both a blessing and a curse. Anyway, I am inviting local businesses (and artists) to set up shop for two days (Dec. 13-14) selling gift items so that we can all "Go Local" for our holiday gifts. This is good for our local economy and its good for the planet. Its also really fun and easy. The Tacoma Mall people are not going to like it but I suppose you can't please everyone. For more information about Tacoma Winterfest go to http://www.myspace.com/tacomawinterfest.
As for what's going on with me, I'm feeling pretty good these days. Point Defiance Music Fest went off without a hitch. The people of Ruston were very pleased - which might be the only issue that they can agree on. *smile*
If you've seen me lately, you may have noticed that my hair is suddenly a lot longer. You wanna know what brand of vitamins I take?
Actually I got hair extensions from Embellish Multispace Salon and I absolutely love them! I feel much more like the old me now that I have long hair again. Shortly after my Mom died I cut off all my hair and even though it was cute, I felt a lot less feminine. It didn't help that I turned into a workaholic and stopped wearing makeup or worrying about dressing cute. I just started to see myself as this work horse person instead of a girl. Now I feel like a girl again and I'm having a lot more fun. I have some really cute single girl friends that I've been hanging out with recently and they inspire me to dress up, go out, cut loose and have a good time. We have fun being giggly and girly like I used to when I was younger. Being silly is really good for the soul. There's a new brat pack in town and they're 100% girl powered!!
P.S. Music I've been listening to lately: Kate Nash, Sohodolls, Lady Gaga, M.I.A., Lilly Allen, Alyson and Morgan Page.

|Hair extensions sound fun. I cut all my hair off after I had my twins and I miss it, but I don't know if I would be brave enough to get extensions, good for you.|
