Frost Park: Electric Elliot to Chalk, Elle to Return

(This Friday 6/13/2008 is Frost Park Chalk Off at noon at 9th and Pacific Avenue. All are welcome)

Episode X: Week 10: 6/13/2008

Buy Stowe Art Now!

Today, Stowe showed me even more Frost Park Chalk Off Battle Art:

That's right, you can "go local," support a local artist, and buy chalk off battle art all at the same time.  This piece includes so much.

That makes three pieces of Battle art available in Feed Tacoma shops, two by Stowe and one by Andrea.

Electric Elliot to Chalk
At Frost Park This Week?

Last week, Electronic Elliot made a great video of Chalk Off Episode IX.

Now, RR Anderson states that Electric Elliot may put down the video camera and take up chalk:

I have heard rumors that Electric Elliot may be participating in the next chalk off. Which would make him the second webcomic artist to participate.

Elle To Return to Frost Park

Frost Park has not quite been the same with the absence of Elle lately.

She has been busy though at her site Life of Elle.  What has she been doing?

Here's her latest video she has masterfully edited and produced.
Worth watching.  (My only caution is to be ready to turn down the volume should you work in an office)

Welcome back to Frost Park Elle!

Adam Finds His Camera

The rumor is that Adam has recovered his camera.  If so, perhaps he will do more filming in Frost Park if Electric Elliot decides to chalk.

Will Julian Beever Ever Come to Frost Park?

Photo by Julian Beever  (Is it as good as RR's Tagro?)

Having Julian enter the chalking fray of Frost Park would be the ultimate event.

Electric Elliot has even expressed some interest:

I might try to work on getting Julian down to Tacoma. That would be a wonderful addition to the Chalk Offs.

If Electric Elliot pulled that off, I would promise to feature the Melon each week for two months.

Ahh yes... and that little screamer isn't coming with me. Sweet freedom. Will it effect my chalking ability? Have I learned to draw actual people? Probably not. But I will be there with a shiny new box of chalk.

Somehow you managed to pull it off in an earlier episode and document it:

also, my personal contributions to the COMMUNITY CHEST PEOPLE'S CHALK STOCKPILE are running desperately low.

I'll try to swing by Target tonight. If anybody has some donations to the "FREE CHALK" heap they would be welcomed.

I have a ton, I'll happily donate.

also also, I've heard rumors that ElectricElliot will be leaving in 2.5 weeks to survey his prospects in the great city of San Fransisco. Also also also, I've heard other rumors that LupinGoddess aka Andrea might be leaving for employment in FEDERAL "mother-trucking" WAY

so my message is to you, Tacoma Employers.. if you've got an open creative/crafty position... feel free to solicit them with your jobs. Your chance to directly combat TACOMA BRAIN DRAIN!

I have my stock pile. I just haven't been around to share it (sorry)

What you didn't realize is that I had help that day. And while I appreciate Tacoma Chickadee's help with the child I don't like to take advantage of my friends like that. Besides, I need a respite... you did actually watch that video you posted right?

by NineInchNachos on 6/12/2008 @ 1:21pm
thanks Stowe, Thanks Elle!

The Unknown Artist and keeper of Rowland Portal gave me a huge bag of chalk that has been sitting in my office for weeks.

You have my complete sympathy, Elle. I had heard about the terrible two's but nobody warned me about the terrible three's! We have a three-year-old and situations like that in your video are a constant part of life now. It has to end eventually, right? Like when they finally go off to college?

In other news:
I saw that someone had posted a wiki for Frost Park but it got shot down. Dirty bastards.

In the spirit and DIY ethos of taking back Frost Park, I've set up a little Tacoma-based wiki on the Tacoma Sun server. Please add to it and make it yours - make it good:

Thanks Morgan!

What a great addition to Frost Park happenings.

Now someone with time on their hands can fill it in.

If it is useful, here is the "scoreboard" for the chalking I put together:

by NineInchNachos on 6/12/2008 @ 3:55pm
problem with the wikipedia is that the event hasn't been recognized by a 'credible' media outlet. so we are targets for the 'speedy delete'

The Tacoma Sun wiki should be a handsome substitute...

in other news I received this message from The New Takhoman..

Nice work RR.

First, making a phone message into accessible audio file is pretty impressive.

Second, it probably best that the city or BIA stopped power washing the chalking in the end. It was nice to have it cleaned off each week. However, the less potential for interference the better.

We will figure out how to wash off the chalk submissions weekly. All one needs is a bucket. There is plenty of water.

Not hard with voice over IP

That is fantastic that the eventual outcome of the event will be saved. It's nice to know that our spending time in the park is changing the dynamic.

RR- you may want to edit out the last part of the mp3...

Today, Electric Elliot writes:

Be sure to check out the 10th Tacoma Chalk Off tomorrow at noon in Frost Park. Rumor on the street is that I might be drawing. I can neither conform or deny these suggestions and consider such speculation to be in-line with conspiracy theorists...

One never knows what to expect from the ever shifting vortex of creative powers focused at Frost Park. If one needs a label, its the "creative class" on steroids in Tacoma...and about time.
