Are they safe? What is keeping the rest of them from falling down around town?

by Erik on 3/13/2008 @ 11:48pm | Whatever happened to the Clear Channel situation? Are they still racking up a growing bill? Did they update their billboards? Did they ever pay anything? The last I heard the issue is still pending in federal court. Many of the billboards in Tacoma are old and are hold overs and non-compliant. Perhaps the city will start an inspection process and remove now the dangerous ones. Many of them look pretty old and rusty. |
by KevinFreitas on 3/14/2008 @ 7:17am | Inspection could be a great way to get rid of offending billboards without Tacoma having to pay a dime to Clear Channel. Whatever the case, the ticker is over $5 million now. I'm down for pitching that cash over to the Murray Morgan fund! |
by AP on 3/14/2008 @ 1:51pm | How about $1mil to Frost Park, $1mil to feed>>tacoma, and $3mil to Murray Morgan bridge fund? |
by izenmania on 3/14/2008 @ 1:55pm | I wonder what feed>>tacoma would do with a million dollars... |
by Mandiferous on 3/14/2008 @ 4:30pm | Bacon for everyone!! |
by KevinFreitas on 3/14/2008 @ 4:32pm | Wow, $1mil for FT? Guess I made somebody's list! I don't even know what I'd do with that kind of green but am sure bacon would be a great start. |

Tacoma's Blogging Community Decimated By Cholesterol Poisoning! Regular readers not surprised. |

It is worth noting, I think, that the KIRO page says the billboard that collapsed was actually a brand new one. |
