Next Frost Park Prize Corina's Cake & Original Stowe Art

This Friday is Frost Park Chalk Off Episode VII, the victor of which will receive two separate prizes, much different from each other.

Prize No. 1: Any Cake or Pie From Corina's Bakery

Owner Julie Rex and Kate

Ordering a single slice of cake at Corina's is a special and decadent treat.  Yet, the the victor in Chalk Off Episode VII will be entitled to an entire cake or pie.

That's right, they could walk out with an entire Red Velvet cake.

Corina's Bakery is now under new ownership have been making significant upgrades with more to come  From the Looking Glass Blog:

As we reported in February, Corina Bakery is one of our favorite places to stop when stretching our legs. Recently, a couple of new owners have been coming around the operation and are making a few changes, improving on an already great idea. Julie Rex, who was hired on as a baker last year, now runs the place along with co-owners Mike and Molly Ott.

Among those changes are the introduction of menu items geared to people with special dietary needs. Julie told us over the phone that over the next few weeks, you can expect to start seeing gluten-free (GF) breakfast items, as well as GF cakes and cookies. And to, er, “sweeten” the deal, she will be rolling out desserts made with alternative sweeteners, such as fruit juice, agave nectar and honey.

Thanks for the sponsorship Julie!

Prize No. 2: Original Frost Park Battle Art by Stowe

After winning Frost Park Chalk Off Episode VI last week, Stowe announced that he would partially sponsor the next Chalk Off

Next week is going to be even better. I can't wait to lock horns with R.R. and Andrea and Elle and Dawn and Mark and Lance and Ariel and Mystery Artist and Artist Yet to Show But Soon to Dominate. So much so that I offer this challenge.

Whoever strips me of my crown next week will get a one of a kind piece of art by Stowe to celebrate their fleeting dominance as reigning chalk champeen. This is above and beyond any corporate sponsorship prize that may be offered.

So next week you all better bring it.

Stowe certainly knows how to illustrate and does so as a full time job.  Thus a "one of a kind piece of art" by him would be a highly prized memento of the victory of Episode VII.  I assume Stowe would work with the victor to help create what they want.

Thanks for the sponsorship Stowe!

Stowe's latest Chalk Off Battle Art:

Looks like Stowe repaired his android monkey after Lupin chopped it up in Episode V.  Giving it a Frankenstein look.   Now he looks mad.  More of Stowe's work can be found at Art by Stowe

I had thought the overnight stay in a fancy condo downtown would be the most valuable prize ever offered at Frost Park.  After all, its only a single hour of chalking.

Yet, this week's prize may meet or exceed it.

There is alot of opportunity for sponsorship in Frost Park Chalk Offs.  Someone could offer prizes for first, second and third place or a participation prize.  Stowe spontaneous offer of a prize for Episode VII will certainly add to the Chalk Off on Friday.  Stowe may have to depict his own demise.

See everyone on Frost Park this Friday.

Today, the Tacoma Sun has a great article entitled

MADE IN TACOMA: Mark Monlux, Illustrator Extraordinaire

Its a great interview with Mark Monlux who was a Frost Park Chalk Off challenger last week.

[Sun] Can we expect to see you at a Frost Park Chalk Off sometime?

[Monlux] Yes. I keep planning on going but life interferes. Either I’m flying in or out of town, having the car die on me, have a crushing deadline, or like this Friday, I’m picking up my nephew to attend the Emerald City Comiccon. But, I do plan on making it one of these days. And I will dominate and lay low my competition.

the back forth chalk character art work is excellent. I need to get in on that action and start developing my own character yo.

Darn right RR. You drew the first piece in the Pre Frost Park Era but nothing since then.

A few muscles on RR Anderson may not look that bad:
