Noon Lunch at Frost Park: Building Critical Mass Downtown

It has been great weather this week at Frost Park.

Here is Frost Park on Wednesday  waiting for someone to "take it over."

Two weeks ago:

Let's hope the weather holds up.

One never knows what new twists and turns will take place at Frost Park.

However, I do hear that the Pink Cookie Revolution lady from Herban Cafe will return promising to change it up.

Architect David Boe should be there.  A rival architect from another firm has indicated be will likely show up to see what the Frost Park event is about.

Paul Sparks may be there selling tickets for the upcoming Kunstler event.

(And no, RR and Ryan from RGC have still not had the opportunity to bury the hatchet).

I wonder how hard it would be to get 100 people to show up?  We are about half way there.

See everyone there.

I have a 2pm in Seattle but will hopefully stop by at least for a little bit. Forecast is showing cloudy with a chance of meatballs showers. Nothing this hearty group can't handle!

I love that book, Kevin.

I have a 2 pm at the grocery store, but I might be able to be there with the babes.

It's littlest's actual birthday today, I think we're going to see Nim's Island. I'll check in with her though, if she wants to go maybe we'll make a quick stop.

Were it not for my sister in labor, I'd be there. Rain is way better than sun. Enjoy, everyone.

No dice for me, unfortunately. Heading north at 12:15. New personal rule: no more meetings on Fri. ;)

Grr. Meetings are running late for me today. I'll try my best to be there, but I'll be pretty late.

Tough weather. The only day since....last Friday.

The Herban Cafe Family made an appearance:

They brought some kind of chocolate dessert.

(Gretchen always looks like she is freezing with no umbrella or hat)

A growing architectural contingent made an appearance as well.

Here, architects David Boe and Ko Wibowo have a spirited discussion on downtown urban design, remedies for Tollefson Plaza and industry secrets.

My schedule opened up so that I was able to show up after 12:30pm, and was impressed with the number of folks still there despite the wind and rain. I applaud our diligence and think we will have definitely earned the better weather when (if?) it happens.

Now the rain stopped and the sun is about to come out!

Frinklin and I were there late today. We've built up a routine on rainy, cold days. After freezing in the park for a period of time with hot coffee to keep the fingers warm we head to Paddy Coyne's and sit by the fire to thaw out (usually with Casioposa) and enjoy a hearty lunch.

When the weather warms we'll start actually eating lunch in the park again.

Had the oppotunity to have the Herban Cafe chocolate ganache things tonight after dinner - absolutely delicious!
