Spooky Video Tour of North End Apartment
Realtors are increasingly showing their houses by video through u tube or other medium.I don't know what it is about this clip of an "available apartment." But it is scary. It might be that the camerman asks a odd rhetorical challenge to the viewer or that he walks around his camera through hallways like in the Halloween movie with a continous feed.
It looks like the first part of a 1970s horror film.
I tried to figure out where the apartment was located but I could not find the address on the web site.
by NineInchNachos on 1/3/2008 @ 11:03am | This video was probably inspired by David Lynch's Lost Highway |
by Erik on 1/3/2008 @ 1:10pm | Yeah. The interesting thing is that the video never mentioned the address, the owner, or the price. Hmmm. |
![]() by Park Terrace on 1/4/2008 @ 8:07am | Hello there. I posted the video, and I can see how it would seem disjointed as I didn't put any contact information within the video itself. It is because the video was primarily meant to be seen through a link on craigslist.org, which is where the apartment was primarily advertised.
However, the video is also on our website at www.parkterraceonline.com and we are located in the Point Defiance area of North Tacoma. |
by KevinFreitas on 1/4/2008 @ 8:47am | At least when viewed somewhere like the Video section of FeedTacoma some context comes through. Still, it makes sense for any video producers in the area to add at least a title screen telling what the video has in it. If for nothing else but to avoid horror movie references. ;) |
![]() by Park Terrace on 1/4/2008 @ 8:55am | Thanks, this is all good feedback. An introductory screen is a fine idea. This was the first video I'd done and was toying with the idea to see what kind of response it would get as far as potential showings. I never ever expected that anyone would find it on youtube without the link I posted on craigslist, or that if they did that they'd be interested in watching it. This has changed my perceptions. For context on this one at least, the craiglist link is:
seattle.craigslist.org/tac/apa/528167102... But I'm starting to think I should end all the virtual tours with a monster popping out from somewhere and me running like hell. If nothing else, I'd satisfy this crowd. :) |
by KevinFreitas on 1/4/2008 @ 9:22am | Hey, you gotta sell it somehow. I'd love to see a little more creativity in all the real estate videos/commercials that have been popping up on YouTube.
Cheers and good luck with the place! |
by Erik on 1/4/2008 @ 11:20am | However, the video is also on our website at www.parkterraceonline.com and we are located in the Point Defiance area of North Tacoma.
Thanks. At least posting it gave it some visibility. Most of the other realtor videos are boring and are simply a series of pictures. Your stood out. But I'm starting to think I should end all the virtual tours with a monster popping out from somewhere and me running like hell. If nothing else, I'd satisfy this crowd. :) Funnry. First person videos shot with the camera person walking down hallways and around blind corners always come out a bit scary as that is a common horror film format. |
