Tacoma Mamma Blog Goes Hollywood
Starting as a grass roots Tacoma blogger, tacomamamma has been gathering alot of steam lately.
Now she's gone from blogging to TV:
Just remember that your fellow bloggers knew you when you started.
A large percentage of blogs never get much attention at all. What sets tacomamamma apart:
Here's my best guess:
1) She bring local content nearly every day about local places or events in Tacoma. (Few people are going to want to read pontificating by itself or journaling).
2) She has a short description, some editorializing and usually a picture.
3) She is hooked into Feed Tacoma for some guaranteed exposure. Especially critical in the early days.
4) She brings a unqiue nitch with her kids and usually how they are experiencing the new place.
Content is still king. Especially local content. The blogosphere took off in Tacoma because the amount of coverage elsewhere was very limited compared to how much happens everyday in the city of 200,000.
Congrats jenyum !
Flashback:
Here is Kevin Freitas intro post on Tacomamamma on February 9, 2007:
Today we can welcome another local blog onto the scene with the launch of Tacomamama.com. The site's a bit rough around the edges but comes with a goal of reaching out to people with families in the area. There's already some posts relating to family friendly websites and I'm sure it'll also touch on other family-related topics as time goes on. There's plenty of spots for discussion, comments and more on the site. Although I can't completely relate being a married guy without children but, hey, that's why it's not my website!Welcome to the Tacoma blogging scene and have fun with it!
(and how about that great domain name -- TacoMAMAMA.com -- hilarious!)
