Tollefson Plaza/Marriott Space to Continue Construction?

This post is not based on rumor, just limited information.

However, I was told from the construction crew, of of which is shown above, that they were setting up scaffolding in the currently empty Marriott space next to Tollefson Plaza.

The above picture I took today shows them moving some sort of construction equipment in the space.

A couple years ago, a restaurant was being built in this space. Then, construction suddenly stopped. We will see if the restaurant or other use goes in here. This spot was the one potential for Tollefson Plaza to have a lively edge.

However, the red concrete stairs extend too far and unfortunately cut off the restaurant from the rest of the plaza. Please post if you have any new developments.

Interesting. If so, it shows that it is another example of how unpredictable the "market" is. There's already a salon next door so I suppose dogs and their owners can get services at the same time.

Perhaps Tollefson Plaza can find a use after all as a dog run of sorts. Seriously.

Yea wouldn't be surprised if they ran them around the plaza at lunch

Thats awesome! Hopefully it doesn't cost double for services like some other animal related places in downtown.

Yeah, the last mystery business turned out to be a bail bond place so this is an improvement. A better location than Urban Dogs.

My understanding from a rumor at the building department was that is was going to be additional banquesting space for the hotel that would have preference use by the Pacific Grill for catering.

That would certainly be in the restaurant genre.

Restaurant or pet hotel/dog grooming place.

Who knows. Maybe both.

We will see.

The latest word I have is that Pacific Grill is going to use it for events and for catering. There is a construction crew now working on it.
