First Night Needs Volunteers!

Nothing to do this New Year's Eve?  Volunteer with First Night!

First Night is still looking for volunteers to help with set up on December 30th and 31st, tear down on January 1st, or help the night of the event. Jobs the night of the event include checking buttons at the door, checking in artists and volunteers, keeping the coffeepot full and even wrangling giant puppets.

The problem with all these volunteer jobs is no one ever wants to pay you at the end of the job.

Heh, at least it's not like a medical internship. I hear those pay in the negative...

Well, look at it this way. If you were going to be alone on New Year's Eve, your payment is companionship and lots to do!

Volunteers get free admission! (And most of the folks prepping this event are "working" for free.)

So whomever can spend a bit of time helping out basically gets $10 (price of an adult admission) ... plus, it's a pretty cool-looking admission button this year (a great souvenier!) ... designed by local artist Lance Kagey.

First Night is Tacoma and Pierce County's New Year's Eve festival; a family-friendly, alcohol-free, and most of all fabulously FUN celebration.
