KFnet in T-Town

Just across 25th Street from Commencement Bay Coffee sits a painted red brick building. A for lease/sale sign sits atop but a corner space facing Jefferson already seems taken. By what? I don't know. There's butcher paper covering the windows which makes me think it could be some kind of retail or food. I'll see if I can take a peek there sometime today but does anyone have any leads? I all about SoDo getting some lovin' so am excited to know who might be setting up shop there.

I used the adjacent lot between this building and the Galleria condos for an infill project as part of my design portfolio for grad school. Hopefully, there will be enough density there in the near future to support something. Even CB is so far from everything, nearly everyone seems to drive there, even those who claim to support car-free living.
by KevinFreitas on 5/27/2008 @ 8:30am	It would be great to see more interested around that corner of town. Commencement Bay could really use more retail or food-related neighbors. The nearby townhomes help a bit but more life is needed.

by Jake on 5/27/2008 @ 11:19am	It looks like the building is also for sale for $2.2 million. There was a large apartment/retail building planned across the street in the vacant lot. They recieved the tax exemption then put the project/land up for sale.
by drizell on 6/1/2008 @ 7:20pm	There is a new gallery located on the upper floor (accessible from the Fawcett side). It's called the Robert Daniel Gallery. I happened to be walking around in that neighborhood at about 11:30 last night and came across their opening party. There was an electric company located there forever where the gallery space is now. As far as I can tell, the ground floor is still vacant.

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
