Last Friday as I was heading home along Dock Street I noticed the 505 Broadway building now has attractive exterior lighting. The wash up the back and front of the building certainly set it apart from other nearby buildings on the bluff and it looks great! Some other LED lit highlights have yet to be turned on but I love what's there already. Check it out:
I got a tour of the building yesterday but more on that tomorrow.

|I predict these units will be selling like hot cakes with fancy lighting like this. Mark my words.|

|Awesome! This has to be one of the best constructed buildings to be built in Tacoma in a long time: brick facade, concrete and steel frame... and lions - oh my! Early in the project I heard something about a cafe going in. Did you hear anything about that, Kevin?|

|According to the floor plans for 505 Broadway there is supposed to be a restaurant on the 4th floor, the developer indicates it is "sold". I'm assuming the 4th floor is the ground floor on the Broadway side of the building.|

|While neither I, nor anyone I know can even hope to afford one of those condos, I gotta say the building is damn nice.
As in really, really nice. That thing will be good looking indefinately, and long after the current "trendy" styles we see (like Hanna Hts and Thea's Landing) look as dated as advacado appliances and shag carpeting.

Cool. Nice to see a building built after 1960 where the owner is proud enough of how it looks to light it up.
A winner of a building. Nice grand entrance, lions in the front and retail on the first floor with few no blanks walls facing pedestrians.

|which one is the condos with the giant copper curtain thingy attached to the back. what do you call that anyhow? like a fenderskirt for a building?|

|By the looks of that dramatic photo I'll bet 5 cents that to buy a condo in the 505 you either must have a family name that starts with "Count" or in the least have a Romanian accent and a cape.|

|Or all the above AND your own sugar-fortified breakfast cereal

|I'm not certain they could put any more sugar in Count Chocula and still call it cereal. I do, however, wish I could get one of those "Monster Bath Time Fun Kits"|
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
