Beautiful Angle's "Tyger! Tyger!"

Happy Chinese New Year!

TYGER! TYGER! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Nice. Had to memorize that poem in 5th grade. Still remember most of it.

Just to be clear, this is an abridged version of the poem, for typesetting reasons. The entire beautiful poem is here:

THE TYGER (from Songs Of Experience)

By William Blake

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Tiger + Robot + William Blake = I love it

@RR: Wow, great find! A much happier version of the robot. I did the final cut's eye patch and snarly expression!

I like grubedoo's stuff! Check out RR's link 2 above!

I'm basking in the sweet, sweet afterglow of Beautiful Angle collaboration. Anyone got a cigarette?

Ha! Nothing says Tacoma Glass Balls like an eye patch.

Yo Mama.

by Non Sequitur on 2/10/2010 @ 11:59pm
my mama is dead, and has been since 1972

by NineInchNachos on 2/11/2010 @ 12:11am
Yeah, well I betcha she's not too keen on the eyes right now either. So let's all be polite and I won't have to stop this bus... :)

by Non Sequitur on 2/11/2010 @ 12:20am
There is no bus. There is only this room.

This room is all that has ever existed, and you and I are in it.
We are the only ones to have existed. We are all that are, have been and who will yet come. You and I are Adam and Lilith, we are Christ and Buddha, we are all the sum of human misery and the sum of human joy.
There is no one else.

NS: Ugly is in the eye of the beholder, that's very true. But whether you like it or not the work that goes in to these Beautiful Angle posters is pretty impressive considering they aren't just zapping out digital prints. I'm sure someone who knows better and can do their process justice can chime in with the details of how these pieces come together.

About

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
