The first of two large bronze lions that will adorn the new 505 Broadway building will be unveiled Thursday night. You can see local artist Jeff Oens' sculpture in the Pantages lobby before and after the Eroica Trio performance. The TacomaArt listserv announcement is playing this up pretty highly saying you'll be "amazed at the grandeur, glory, and scale of this magnificent piece". If this piece is anything like some of his other work (you know that big bronze moose in front of Northwest Trek?) this should be some stunning stuff.
Question is, can folks enter the lobby to see the work even if they're not paying to see the show? I suppose if that's a no-no then a little window shopping/photographing could be in order.

Cool. Real bronze. Not too many of those have been made for Tacoma lately.

Pantages Theater Box Office
901 Broadway, Tacoma
Open Monday thru Friday, 11am-6pm
Open Saturday, Noon -4pm
If you go to the Eroica Trio performance, you will get the chance to see one of the 505 lions displayed in the lobby of the Pantages. The 5o5 lions are original commissioned larger-than-life bronze sculptures sculpted by famed wild life artist Jeff Oens and fabricated right here in Tacoma at The Bronze Works. Eventually, the pair of lions will rest outside the front doors of the 505 Broadway Condos.
Cool. Bronze. Art.

It looks like the auto link worked. Nice job!
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
