Coffee Spot Opening Along Commerce

A space along Tacoma's antique row got a face lift this last week to make way for a new cafe. DiLoreto's Cafe is coming to a spot along Commerce just across the street from the Theater District Link light rail stop. The already colorful facade got a new coat of navy blue and bright yellow in prep for the new coffee shop by Chris DiLoreto formerly of Edgewood Cafe in Edgewood, WA that closed up sometime in April. The only sign of life I found online is the sparse Facebook page linked above with only a hint they may serve sandwiches as well as coffee.

Whatever the case and whenever they open, welcome to the neighborhood! It's great to see new activity coming to downtown like this, Chopstix relocating to Pacific, and a new Cajun restaurant joining them down there as well.

Beautiful building. Makes me wonder what that rooftop garden looks like.

Here's a glimpse of it from a tour of the Mecca I took a few years ago:

And via google maps:

Thanks Kevin. So the other side of the cafe (uphill) is the Mecca?

No ma'am -- I took a photo of the rooftop garden from a unit in the Mecca. This space is two doors down, I believe. The building, on the Broadway side, is Sanford & Son.

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
