FeedTacoma Volunteer Corps

...needs you!

FeedTacoma is an incredible community of local blogs, conversations, and insight that flows freely 24-7. Though I'm the site's creator I don't sit behind a big red button every day to edit, arrange, organize, nor manage what goes on here. Contributions from the many bloggers, commenters, artists, photographers, etc. come in one by one and make up what we've come to know as an amazing one-stop source for all things Tacoma. But there's always more to do...

This is where FeedTacoma needs you!

I've got lists of new ideas and initiatives for the FeedTacoma community and want help to make them come to life. No one person makes FeedTacoma what it is but, instead, is a sum of its parts (a.k.a. all of you). So if you've always wanted to help out but maybe aren't into blogging or commenting there are all sorts of other ways to contribute. Let's get together to have an open brainstorming session and see who might like to do what. Here are the details:

What: FeedTacoma Volunteer Interest Meet-up
When: Wednesday, Nov. 19 @ 6:30pm
Where: Sanford & Son Auction Hall (enter on Broadway)

Please comment below or email me to RSVP so I know how many delicious hello, cupcake's to have on hand. ;) Thanks!

~ Kevin

This is a great idea, and I'm eager to be involved.

I discovered recently that my non-belief in Mofo's God makes me incapable of making moral or ethical decisions, so we'll have to find something that is heathen-appropriate. I'm open to suggestions.

Great idea Kevin! I'm not sure I can make the meeting, but let me know how I can help.

"I discovered recently that my non-belief in Mofo's God makes me incapable of making moral or ethical decisions..."

Dmitri, that subject is expanding on my latest forum "Sunday Scriber."

Your views are definitely worthy of consideration.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Mr. Anderson's views are worthy of consideration.

Kevin had the uncanny ability to anticipate the shape of the Tacoma blogosphere before he created the Feed Tacoma quadrant. That's vision.

Mofo, RR, Erik -- I'm calling you out. Care to volunteer? I have many uses for many different kinds of skills.

I'd like to check this out. But when the cupcakes are gone, then so am I.

Hey, Kevin, I'm interested. But I teach until 7:00 on Wednesday...couldn't get there until around 7:30.

by KevinFreitas on 11/17/2008 @ 3:05pm
Come by if you can and at least get a cupcake. I imagine we may not end at 7:30 sharp so you may at least be able to sit in for a minute.

I wish I could come but the kids can't do Sanford and Son. (Bounce Bounce Bounce...Crash Crash Crash)

I am interested in whatever you're thinking up, though. Keep me posted. I'd love to piggyback on your request for volunteers, if by chance you have so many you just can't use them all :)

Count me in. Sorry that I can't make the 19th though.

Thanks to everyone who showed both in the morning and last night. I'm gathering together some resources for our immediate action items and will keep in touch with other upcoming ideas.

Cheers!

About

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
