Get to know one of the most charming neighborhoods in town this weekend via Historic Tacoma. From an email:
On Saturday July 18th, Historic Tacoma and the Tacoma Historical Society are producing their 3rd annual historic walking tour, offering two tours of the Wedge district, located between Division and Sixth Avenue, west of the MultiCare campus. The tours will feature historic homes, commercial buildings and apartments - excellent examples of historic architectural styles used in Tacoma in the early 20th century.

|Good post Kevin. Speaking of the Multi-care campus I wanted to note that the Power Plant building appears to be finished and I think it looks great. Some nice artistic flourishes and windows for viewing what's going on inside.|

|Yeah, I agree Fredo. Despite the tall smoke/steam stacks it's a decent building and I applaud MultiCare for listening to nearby neighborhood residents and doing their best to add some style and charm to the new building. I wonder if it'll be a stop on the walking tour?|

|I walk that hood all the time! It;s conveniently located between my apartment and my parent's house.
Check out the house up on the corner of 5th & Ainsworth... it's a beauty.
Also pay attention to the block of Cushman between 5th & 6th.
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
