Frost Park Chalk Off Season 4, Episode 0.so1

Had lunch at Hal of a Sub today and, upon looking up from my delicious egg salad sammich, saw a head of hair that's hard to miss. That's right, Ariel was inspired by today's beautiful weather and brought the fam out for a little pre-season Frost Park chalking action!

So, here's her entry from today (sorry, I was ill-prepared and had only my iPod touch on me for snapping pics). Make sure you use the word "vote" somewhere in your comment and come on down next Friday, April Fools Day for the first official chalk off of the season!

P.S. - Local businesses/groups/whomev interested in sponsoring feel free to email me.

This is a tough one, because all the entries are so awesome! I am having a very difficult time deciding, but this week, my VOTE goes to Ariel!

(gotta practice making comments too!)

Well done everyone, but especially Ariel. Her spirit and presence really put her piece far above and beyond any others out there today. Well done and my vote goes to you Ariel!

See everyone next week -- Turn That Light Out Tacoma is sponsoring with a billboard theme and $50 King's Books gift certificate to the winner.

Wow, thank you all for your kind votes. I might have a chance at winning this week! I look forward to seeing you all there next week, I wonder what shenanigans the chalkies will get up to this April fools Friday?

My VOTE goes to.. (drumroll).. Ariel!

So next week the theme is April Fools? Any local volunteers for the "Greatest Illustrator in the Universe" prize?

WOW! That is a tantalizing prize and a great theme. Mixing anti-billboard passion with April Fools seems like a perfect flow.

I drive home from FedWay to T-Town after work about six days a week. Around the curve from Fife almost to the T-Dome I always see this billboard with a huge image of the lame actor from "Entourage" (lame show) on it. I don't even know what it is trying to sell me; some kinda cell phone service?. As I pass this visual pollution I shoot it with my pretend lasers issued forth from my beater car.

If only crappy advertising could skim the surface of yummy art would I support billboards. But it will never happen. Not to mention everyone has their own taste. Hell, look at Nickelback (just an example) or whatever other vomit is offered up to the masses. So what I am saying is: I DO NOT WANT TO BE ASSAULTED WITH CRAP! But we all have our own taste, and my taste is telling me-YUCKY, spit it out!

Even if billboards offered up the finest art to suit my taste, it might not suit my neighbors, sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't (there is a damn slogan right there, we are all programed). So EAT ME lame advertisers. See you all next Friday, I hope the weather is chalk friendly!

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
