C'mon ride a swing, and ride it
Garfield Park just above Schuster Parkway outside Old Town received a donation for new play equipment. Turns out we have a generous Danish playground manufacturer right here in Tacoma. From the press release:
During the November 26 Board Meeting, Commissioners accepted a donation from Kompan, a Danish playground manufacturer which recently relocated its North American headquarters to downtown Tacoma. The $86,000 equipment donation was made possible in part by Friends of Garfield Park who provided approximately $23,000 of the funding to purchase an additional play feature for the park.
"This is an incredible opportunity. Our bond funding for Garfield Park is dedicated to improve field drainage, paths and other basic infrastructure needs," said Doug Fraser, Metro Parks Design and Construction Manager. "This donation will make a very visible and valuable enhancement to the park."
Congrats to MetroParks and for everyone in the community that makes use of Garfield Park.

|kompan equipment is rad. their swings however could use improvement. My wife has witnessed many children fall off the stiff plastic seats (Not like the black floppy rubber seats you had back in my day, no sir!).
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
