One year ago today the first Tacomic hit the FeedTacoma homepage and set the standard for local hand-drawn satire. Nearly every week since, RR Anderson takes a one or two sentence idea from me and transforms it into the work you see each week. Recently he was approached and is now syndicated in print as well in the Weekly Volcano. Thanks to RR for all the work and talent he's put into all the Tacomic's to date and for everyone for making them a part of your weekly online routine.

Hey, the TNT might be looking for a temporary Doonesbury replacement while Trudeau goes on an extended leave. Maybe RR can step up with the local slant + quality drawing they're looking for...

I almost met RR once... but I was so intimidated by his glorious presence that I just spent my time stealing furtive glances across the room before eventually fleeing the scene.

maybe i'll catch you at the Tacomic party. we can talk about the joys of beard ownership.

I also tip-toed around the perimeter of a room inhabited by the RR before fleeing. It was his art show awhile back. Question: what does one say to RR? I feel that standard smalltalk would be very offensive to him, yet I don't know why. He's not unlike a technological singularity where progression becomes altered, even if only slightly.

Question: what does one say to RR?
Not alot to say when you see him non-virtually, which is a rarity, other than perhaps "I'll take two Tacomics."

I'm certain this would appease him. Good strategy.

As a bonus Chris of The Red Hot fame has made me some 1" sized FeedTacoma buttons. I'll be handing them out to folks at the party tomorrow to wear and show their FeedTacoma pride.

Suh-wheeet! I want a button (though I really want a teeshirt, font the same as feed>>tacoma, with green, then blue, saying "whores get paid (bloggers do it for free.)" --yeeee-ep. AP-- RR is strangely approachable in real life. Seems almost... shy and unassuming? with a wicked sense of humor.
by KevinFreitas on 3/8/2008 @ 7:37pm
I love that! Definitely going to make a shirt or something out of it. Maybe even an animated badge for contributing bloggers to post on their sites. Hmm...

Its Daylight savings time effective 2:00 a.m. this morning. That means its actually an hour later than it would seem. Move your clocks ahead. Occurring on the day of the Tacomic event.
See everyone at 3:00 at the Helm.
Don't forget to spring forward on Saturday for daylight savings time. The time officially changes at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, but it’s not a bad idea to turn the clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
Some parts of the country don't observe daylight saving time. Those include Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
