Tickets are now on sale for a feast to help celebrate and support Tacoma's wonderful Farmers' Markets on Saturday, September 13th. The outdoor, on the farm, white linen occasion will feature (of course) locally grown and raised food with local restaurateurs at the helm. Tickets are $75 but there's only 100 available.
Here are the deets received in an Evite:
The Broadway Market and 6th Avenue Farmers Markets cordially invite you to our first annual "Harvest Feast Tacoma". This is your chance to support the Tacoma Farmers Markets, our local farms, and our community by joining us for an elegantly casual dining affair on the farm.
The evening will include locally grown, artful cuisine served white linen style under the open sky, and although I cannot ruin the delightful surprise by revealing all of the great dishes, I can tell you that Charlie from Primo Grill will be on site all day preparing a pit roasted pig from locally grown Cheryl's Pigs Farm. There will also be a multi-course buffet prepared by Tacoma's top chefs using all locally grown ingredients, and the meal will be topped off by Old Milwaukee's famous Tres Leche's cake, among other sweets. Locally crafted beer and wine will also be available throughout the evening.
Additional entertainment for the evening will also include market street musicians and entertainers throughout the evening, as well as farm tours on this real working farm.
This event is limited to just the first 100 Locavores who purchase tickets for Harvest Feast Tacoma. Tickets are $75 each, and can be purchased at the 6th Avenue or Broadway farmers markets information booths, by calling Laura at 253-272-7077, or at www.brownpapertickets.com and referencing Harvest Feast Tacoma.
Support your local farms/markets AND reward yourself at the same time. This dining experience will change the way you think about food forever!

|Events like this have been happening in other cities for years; it is about time for Tacoma! Amazing local food, prepared by our best local chefs, drinks, entertainment, farm tours --- can't wait! Hope to see you there!
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
