Center street also finds itself with some blighted billboards. Clear Channel must be new to the area because it seems their signs just have no resistance to the elements here. Oh wait, they've been here for years. Nope, Madame Mayor and City Council, they still just suck. Send a message and strengthen our sign code to take down non-complying billboards and prevent digital billboards from ever taking root in Tacoma.

|Good point and I'd say yes, the City wouldn't likely stand for blight in the form of nudie billboards but they're apparently cool with this kind of blight.

|Nasty. A pretty standard look these days in Tacoma.|
On the anti billboard site in LA they have similar pictures and call it "Billboard Blight: A Gallery of Shame":
At last week’s City Planning Commission hearing on proposed revisions to the city’s sign ordinance, representatives and lobbyists representing behemoth corporations like Clear Channel and CBS Outdoor argued that stricter regulations on outdoor signage would harm the city’s economy and result in the loss of jobs, although they offered no facts or figures to support these assertions.
Perhaps the question to ask these companies is what they do to harm the visual landscape of the city, and how this makes it a less desirable place to live and do business, and what that means for jobs and the economy. The billboards in the photos belong to Clear Channel, CBS Outdoor, and Lamar Outdoor (formerly Vista Media). |6th and Sheridan (or near abouts) has another torn Marsha Moody board. Not that Marsha cares.

|I tried to find her on face book... hmm. www.marshamoody.com/|
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
Hey Clear Channel, Clean Up Your Crap!
