Hulking Hwy 16 Relics Nearly Gone

The angular supports of the old Highway 16 Nalley Valley viaduct have stood alone for the last couple years with nothing to hold up. Slowly chewed away by deconstruction equipment with ragged edges stretching high above like something out of a movie set it future, post-apocalyptic times. Sometimes they fought back by letting gravity have its way but, lo, all things must end and these pictures show their end is near.

Though progress is a good thing I have to admit I'll miss those massive relics on my drives to/from downtown. They may be unsightly to some but they inspire my imagination of a time past when they were newly formed and ushering in a new era of vehicular convenience for Tacoma.

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
