The Little Holland Lives!
Mikie Burger [ map ]
Hours: M-Sat 10:30am - 8:30pm
For guys like me who didn't hit up the Little Holland before it disappeared we've been granted a second chance. Of sorts. The News Tribune reported back on Halloween that new owners bought the business and planned to stick to the basics and the same recipes. I noticed as I passed by this morning the new place where the old Mama's BBQ was and stopped by tonight to see them open for business and hopping!
I snagged a menu and it looks like, along with standard burger you'd expect, there is the signature Mikie Burger with Canadian bacon, Swiss cheese, veggies, and Mikie sauce for a mere $3.75. Kick it up a notch and triple up the bacon and cheese to make it a Mighty Mike for $5.50. There's even a stripped down burger called the "Basic" with just pickles and Mikie sauce for $2.25. Plenty of other choices on the menu including a BLT (and one featuring Canadian bacon -- I'm sensing a theme here), halibut sandwich, fish and chips or shrimp and chips, chicken strips, a grilled hot dog, and even a corn dog. All the burgers and all the sandwiches are under $6 and can be made a combo with fries and a drink for $2.40 more. Sub onion rings into that combo for $3.30 more. There are plenty of shakes to be had with 18 flavor choices and more sweet, chilled goodness that comes in frozen custard form.
Anyone been there yet or care to give 'em a try sometime soon? We should totally have a Tacoma burger showdown sometime!

I have been trying hard to stay away from burgers and fries, but my daughter looooooved the Little Holland. Will probably give in soon.

Looks like they renovated the place a bit.

It looked like pretty much the same layout of the space as when it was Mama's. Couple tables off to each side as you walk in and a counter for placing/picking up orders and filling your soda cup.
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
