First of all, if you haven't driven Dock Street since before the construction it's change a lot. The wider, boardwalk style sidewalk now extends down to the Murray Morgan bridge. Looks also like some new street lamps will be going in. You might also notice that a new set of stoplights was just hung where 15th Street curls around and dumps you off onto Dock Street. It's a welcome addition considering how busy this area gets around rush hour but I'm sure it will also help keep things a little calmer around the time of Tall Ships this summer.
With such a big event coming up many of the local improvements seem timed like this is our Olympics. The new "D" Street overpass and connection with Dock Street will be done. The improvements above will be done. The Balfour Dock renovation will be done. As might some improvements along Schuster. The area is going to look and work great and hopefully visitors to the area will take note. Tacoma isn't a town sloughing off or resting on its recent success. If the passionate people around here have anything to do about it, we'll keep moving forward.

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
