KFnet in T-Town

Photo ~ Center Street Horseplay

I shot this driving west on Center Street in the Nalley Valley at Wilkeson on Saturday:

On the way back I was sad not to have my real camera because rider and horses made it to Center Street and Stevens. There, rider was no where to be found but horses were hitched to the sign out in front of 7-11! Evidence of equestrian droppings was also seen downtown at 21st and Jefferson. I love this town!

I'm all for more bike lanes around town but do not want to see my tax dollars spent for horse lanes! ;)

OK if the taxpayers fund bike lanes but not OK for the taxpayers to fund horse lanes. Why is that? Why doesn't every mode of transportation deserve it's own lane? ;)

Very true! More alt-transport lanes, less cards. Imagine a street with a bike, horse, golf cart, electric car, and street car lane!

Seriously though, it was a pretty amazing sight. There just something special about horses since they have served humanity's transportation needs for who knows how long.

I saw him about 11:30 Sunday morning on I-5 south of Gravelly Lake!

How are we ever going to get more tax paying folks riding horses to save our environment if we aren't willing to provide them with horse lanes? The same arguments that persuaded the council to install bike lanes for bicyclists apply as well to horse riders.

Wow @Joel! I wonder if he's on some sort of tour/pilgrimage? Really impressive.

Pretty cool but I don't think that horses are sustainable for transportation (because of the heavy mass of the horse, its energy use and emissions).Much better and more efficient than a passenger vehicle though.Horse manure is pretty nasty though.I believe one can legally ride a horse drawn cart on the roads but you need a slow moving vehicle sign on the back of it.

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
