Puget Sound Pizza Breakfast's Fade to Weekends

Perennial favorite pizza and breakfast spot Puget Sound Pizza has a change you might want to know about. At least I did yesterday after arranging to have breakfast with my team from work before our special R&D day. Turns out, after starting these two-and-a-half years ago, they no longer open at 7am to serve breakfast on weekdays. :( I know, total bummer. Weekends are still on as their sign above now reads but Izenmania confirmed that just a week or so before that AM food fix still remained.

Times are undoubtedly tougher and my usual stops there for French toast or their fantastic scrambles but I'm happy they're doing as well as they are and hope this is a temporary change awaiting better times. It's sure as heck better than them closing all together from over-extending themselves.

honestly I think the breakfast isn't as good as it was a few years ago, also what happens to the fresh jam boooo.

The service is still great though

Perhaps if that internet company moved into the white building nearby, they could open up their breakfast again.

A sad development, to be sure. I was hoping things would get better for PSP after the LID construction on their street was over. I guess having fancy new sidewalks hasn't done much for their business. There is some good news for those hungry for breakfast, Subway is starting to market breakfast items.

I'm sure high state and local b&o taxes, high labor and industry taxes, high unemployment taxes, high personal property taxes, and high wage levels had nothing to do with the cutback.

The sky isn't falling, we're just doing what good businesses do in times of declining revenues, we are refocusing on the core products we offer that got us here: pizza, a great bar with karaoke, and weekend breakfast.

Fredo's dead on. As Americans over the past two years, we've all been fighting the worst economy, evidently, since the Great Depression and I, as owner, have been doing everything I can to keep everybody working without laying anyone off.

Believe me, as much as we would like to do breakfast 7 days or be open 24 hours, there just isn't the call for it. And two and a half years ago there really wasn't enough demand for us to do 7 days - we just wanted to see if it would catch-on with the construction workers and the downtown professional types and it didn't. So, we made a decision and being open Monday thru Friday for daily breakfast wasn't penciling for us and we've changed our format.

But to say that breakfast isn't as good or products have changed: I take issue because I believe that's not true. Example: we use the exact same jelly. Now we just use Health Dept recommended single-serving packets instead of buying large tubs of Smuckers and having the servers scoop out individual servings.

Maybe it's been a awhile since you've been in for breakfast: check it out! Saturdays and Sundays from 9am until 1:30-ish.

Thanks for the feedback Jim.

Well there ya go!

Thanks so much for chiming in Jim! And good on ya for doing your best to keep folks working. I admire that and completely understand as such. There's definitely some pizza and some breakfast in my future and I can't wait for your find establishment to serve it up for me. Cheers!

About

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
