Start Your Weekend with Chalk, a Sale, and Magic

I'm currently wearing shorts (I'll probably change to pants for the scooter ride to work) and am feeling all summer-happy after the dose of sunshine yesterday. Today you can get out and join the fun at Frost Park at noon. If you don't already know, the park is at the corner of 9th and Commerce and each Friday at noon a free, open sidewalk chalk art competition takes place. It's an amazing sight that makes for a great excuse to get out of the office and hang out with lots of great fellow FeedTacoma readers. We even vote for our favorites and award prizes after the lunch hour is up.

Just saw via the FeedTacoma Calendar that today also marks the start of the first community yard and sidewalk sale along Commerce and Broadway. The Middle Floor Merchants and residents of the Winthrop will offer up goods both on the street and inside the rarely accessible Winthrop ballroom from noon today and tomorrow until 6pm. Since, admittedly, I've not really spent any time inside Sanford and Son, this will be a great way to stroll by and see what the shops there have to offer.

After a couple positive blogger reviews (here and here) you might also consider seeing Hypothesis with magician Geoff Kanick from the, until recently quiet, Horatio Theatre. $10 will get you in to see what ensie describes as "an entirely enjoyable experience."

And that's all just today/tonight! So what are you doing tonight and this weekend?

Oh, what happened to our glorious weather? I was tempted to skip Frost Park today, until you reminded me of the sidewalk sale. Can't miss that. Especially after my first ever visit to the Middle Floor yesterday. I'm so impressed.

If Country Girl Gardens is selling soap on the sidewalk, BUY SOME! She gave me a sample yesterday and it is fabulous. My house is taking on this clean fresh scent just because I've been washing my hands with it. She makes the soaps all by hand in her shop, right there in the Middle Floor. She has other extremely cool stuff in her shop, but I'm going to blog about that later :)

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
