Supersized Tagging Downtown

Tagging happens (see links below) but it kills me when a new "technique" emerges that's more destructive than previous occurrences. These two examples have appeared in the last couple weeks on downtown buildings:

Huge new tag on the side of the building that houses The Swiss

Parking lot near at the back of Dorky's near 9th and Pacific

Their size is what disturbs me most especially there on the side of the Swiss building where it's on top of beautiful, unpainted brick. I'd far prefer seeing more of these around town than billboard-sized tags on the sides of our treasured and historic structures.

The lack of design is the most disturbing part...If you are gonna go big, go bold and beautiful, not third grader in a rush...

Those deviants should contact City Hall and get a proper endorsement to fly their freak flag.

The mayor needs to give Jay Ray some more money. That will do it.

They should have picked a better building instead.
Say the one at 747 Market Street.
The artwork is too crude.
I would have chosen a huge black NAZI swastika instead to irk them.
Then again it's a complete waste of time.

The tagging in the first picture isn't the only eyesore. What about those 2 giant dumpsters blocking the sidewalk and the crosswalk. Is that how enlightened BIP merchants dispose of their trash?

when the new garbage schedule starts will dt get dumpsters twice as big with every other week pickup?

This is a parking lot conspiracy!

As you can see highlighted in the photo, there is a TREE growing from the Swiss building:

This graffiti was in inside job to create awareness of this building and it's tree.
Once the presence of the Swiss Tree is known, the building will rapidly be reclassified as a "safety risk".

And as such, Eric Anderson will soon be starting plans to raze this building into more surface-level parking.

ugly as hell

ugly yes. but the reality is that tacoma just attracts and houses really untalented taggers:) btw fuck the swiss. thank you:)

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
