Washington's legislature is considering allowing digital billboard blight and the other Washington isn't upholding laws already in place to prevent digital billboards along our scenic byways. Scenic America has a petition to tell lawmakers to say "no" to digital billboards and it's an easy sign. Please consider adding your support to the list.
Though you all know how I feel, here's the note I wrote along with my petition signature:
Much, much more re: billboards via FeedTacoma Search
There is zero reason to allow such visual blightcicles on our highways for safety and beauty reasons. Clear Channel and like-minded outdoor advertising companies have many options to advertise on a more local, human scale that's friendlier to our livable communities and will reach people in a more meaningful way. Please do not give a blanket approval to such companies at the cost of our communities. Tell these companies to try to stop making a quick buck off us and, instead, work with communities to figure out the soundest way they might reach the people within it.

|Lately, as tv's get larger, I'm thinking of placing one at my window pointed out to sixth ave. I'd mostly hook it to my desktop so the passing traffic could watch my browsing, but when I took breaks I would run local advertisement. Maybe a weatherproof box right out on the curb so passers by could get a good look. It would be good advert space for local stuff.|
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
