Video ~ "Bridging the Narrows"

Local public television station KBTC may often be overlooked while 24 newschannels and fake music-related video games occupy the attention of the masses. I recommend pausing for just a few minutes to have a look at some of the work they produce here locally for their Full Focus show. If you don't catch it when aired they've taken to posting these pieces online.

I've viewed a few and recommend each for the care taken and sharp production quality. Among them are stories of hope given to the homeless in Seattle, that guy who did a little jig in various places the world over, and some great hyper-local pieces about the Tacoma Art Museum, Museum of Glass, and more. Overall I'm not much for lengthy online videos but these are truly worth clicking the full screen button then sitting back to enjoy. It's a great way to "go local" for TV.

Just this morning I watched "Bridging the Narrows". It's a simple narrative of the history of the first Narrows Bridge and provides perspective that I'd never heard about competing architectural designs -- one of which may have avoided the historic collapse.

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
