KFnet in T-Town

Video ~ Downtown Tacoma tree lighting

Though it was a blustery, rainy, and chilly evening in downtown Tacoma a decent crowd showed up to enjoy the holiday tree lighting. Santa was on-hand and music for the season was played by the Ft. Lewis Army Brass Ensemble and a flute/harp duet.

The night seemed a bit hurried, however, since the Mayor was called upon to speak but wasn't there and the tree lighting took place about 5:30 rather than after 6pm like everything I read mentioned. Nevertheless, as you can see, it's a lovely display that we'll get to enjoy the rest of the month.

Three things for next year: let's put the tree in Tollefson Plaza, let's stick to the schedule so folks don't miss the festivities, and let's light the tree with energy efficient LEDs.

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
