When Will the Reconciliation Begin?

Fenced off but a full can of garbageSo, how 'bout that Chinese Reconciliation Park, huh? Haven't been? Well, it's scheduled opening July 3rd didn't happen considering the fence [mostly] blocking off access to the new space. The sad thing is right now that folks are, instead of enjoying the park at the southern tip of the Ruston Way waterfront, trespassing because the fence isn't really complete enough to keep people out. Saw a couple folks there last week and that full can of garbage behind the fence seems kinda' silly.

Not sure what's left but either zip up the perimeter a bit or open it up for all to enjoy. It certainly looks like a great and meaningful place. Could do without those massive ships looming in the background tho...

The July 3rd celebration was just a sneak preview, I think it will finally open in September. We noticed the trash too, right after that party. The probably just forgot to clean it out then. What's silly is that all around the trash cans seem to have the most visual impact. Would have been nice to not make the cans such focal points. Otherwise, I am thrilled we have this gem of a park.

There's some contact information here:

According to this article:
www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/story/...
only a portion of the park has been completed and there is additional construction to begin in September.

:( Sad face. Such a beautiful spot already and my hopes were already up that it'd be open soon. I guess reconciliation doesn't happy over night. ;)

About

Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.

So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
