Wandering the Proctor Farmers' Market this Saturday after a bit of a cupcake binge I noticed the sign at right. A new cafe deep in the heart of Proctor? Awesome! The sign stood at the entrance to the market and pointed down 27th through the crowd. But where, pray tell, is the Vanilla Bean Cafe?
By all accounts glancing down the street during the market and driving by this morning, I have no bloody idea! A quick search of Google reveals an identically named business out at E 64th and Waller but that's about it.
Anyone know just where the Vanilla Bean is in Proctor? Or is this sign just a cheap form of faux economic stimulus helping folks feel like new businesses are popping up rather than packing up and leaving?

|I wondered that too.
Bill Eavns assured me that they were a coffee shop in Farmers Market but I never saw them.

I would guess that it was the 64th and Waller coffee shop, setting up a stand for the market itself.

It's a coffee shop that sets up a stand at the market ... I've seen them next to the entertainment I believe, or at least on that side of the street between the "stage" tent and Proctor Street.

Now they're opening a branch in the old Blackwater spot on St. Helens St. downtown.

Hi there, Vanilla Bean cafe was at the Farmers Market on Proctor, we were located right next to the Upper Crust Bistro. We put our sign out on the sidewalk so people would know that we were there inside the market. We are now located on 743 St. Helens Ave. downtown Tacoma..... The old Blackwater. Thank you everyone for being so supportive of us!! Come give us a try..........
Although I have another home on the web I thought it might be nice to lead by example a bit and put this blog system up to the test myself.
So far, so good... Funny how I build web tools for other people that are far better than the one's I have setup over on KFnet.
