Motorcycle Memories

Almost as good as a visit from Tim Noah....almost.

A co-worker was reading the paper this afternoon and commented on what a horrible name Beulah was (she was looking at the caption on a photo from 1940).  Moments after I agreed with her, I remembered another Beulah.

When I was a kid at Stanley Elementary (circa 1988-1993), Officer Mike would bring Harvey and Beulah, the talking motorcycles, to our school during assemblies.   Does anyone else remember Harvey and Beulah?  Are they still around?  I tried searching the Tacoma Police Department website without any luck.

In North Dakota, there is a Harvey Motorcycle Insurance Company and a Beulah Motorcycle Insurance Company.

I guess that doesn't help much, does it?

It seems a worthy search, so I'll be on the alert.

I remember Harvey...he came to the grade schools in the '70s.

Somewhere I have a photo of my younger daughter seated on Harvey at the Puyallup Fair, circa 1983 or so. Harvey is indeed remembered. I do not, however, recall Beulah.
