In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus SanctiWEAPONS OF MASS DISTRACTION. Hello and welcome to Episode Thirty-four of "Sunday Scriber." When I started this series my ambition was to write a weekly transcription from the Bible to demonstrate the concept of living in the eternal now. That is to say, living according to Holy Scripture and its prescription for the correct use of personal freedom. Ultimately living free from error. Ultimately living in peace. On more than one occasion my halo has slipped and in accordance with contemporary thinking I blame that on "Weapons of Mass Distraction." In the broadest terms I'm talking about technology for consumption by the general public---things of value amidst the secular, like personal computers, which can appear to have value in the sense that uncertainty is reduced. After all, when one can use technology to predict and control the future, one can reduce uncertainty and then achieve a sort of peace. One promise of weapons of mass distraction such as personal computers, is the promise of freedom from the frustration of inadequacy. Many of us want to individually control our lives but everyday living involves a lot of boredom and waiting. So oftentimes people will counter boredom and waiting by either indulging in distraction or attempting to learn a new skill. One becomes an expert computer gamer or an expert computer operator in the workplace. And at the end of the day one can say, "I've got something to do." "I'm in control." "I'm at peace." Ladies and whatever, you and me are not in control. And for all the promises of weapons of mass distraction like personal computers, in the end we are not living free from error. We are not living in peace. In this episode of "Sunday Scriber" I am transcribing from the letter of Paul to the Romans. St. Paul, a tent maker by trade, also had a classical Greek education. There is a distinction between learning skills and learning in the academic sense which seeks to define the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. St. Paul seeks to make plain the importance of such awareness. It's a matter of living free from error and ultimately living in peace.---MFTH. ***Romans 12.1-2. I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

This is my real-time novel, "Idealism in Tacoma," which will attempt to sort out the virtual new order I discovered in local blogs and in local 'hoods. I welcome you to join me as I press on in search of answers to the ongoing question: "Is it new?"
NEW! for 2011:
"QUANTUM FOAM," the second real-time novel by Mofo from the Hood, is happening now!
"For whatever mysterious reason, I must act beyond the role of spectator. Something beyond a portable history must be explored.
Therefore in order for me to define the concepts and categories of realities beyond the realm of my real-time novel "Idealism in Tacoma," a wholly other discourse must take form.
Ladies and whatever, let us go forth into the unknown dimension of imagination. I hereby offer you my all new materialist inspired "out of nothing" real-time novel: 'QUANTUM FOAM'."
Also For Your Enjoyment:
"The Mofo News Network" aka MNN is one of the world's most trusted sources of news and entertainment--MFTH, Founder*
"Sunday Scriber" series. 36 episodes from May 2008 to July 2011. Perpetual status. A practical look at why survival and freedom depends on knowing what is good, acceptable, and perfect.
*MFTH was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington USA. As a lifelong resident, uninspired by money, power, or fame, he eventually resorted to reading internet blogs, sometimes at the public library. In May, 2008, during the Great Recession, he started "Mofo from the Hood's Blog" on FeedTacoma.com, because it was free. If this blog ever helps him to attain money, power, and fame, he will probably stay in Tacoma.
