Turbine Blades on a Train

Rolling past Dock St.

I still can't get over how cool this was. Just wanted to share what I caught sight of yesterday after work down on Dock St.

I'd say there were at least 30 of them, maybe more. I had more than enough time to stop the car, park, get out, cross the street, and snap these shots before it was even half-way past.

Also, Kevin mentioned he saw a trainload heading north from Longview not long ago - anyone know who's ordering all these?

So cool! I think they bring these up from Longview, WA (see www.portoflongview.com/page.asp?view=432...). Saw a load of 'em on a recent drive south and was pretty blown away too! Would've been awesome to see 'em up that close and personal. Pretty stunning. I got to visit a wind farm once on the southwest corner of the Big Island of Hawai'i and they're quite a site (and sound -- they are all tuned differently and make a strange, ghostly moan/hum sound as they turn).

Slightly different site from this one:

Thanks for sharing Nick!

I've seen smaller ones heading South on 101 on big flatbed trucks. I imagine there for the Pacific County Radar Ridge wind farm.
