I learned everything I've ever needed to know about Japanese culture from Mr. Miyagi, he's a total badass. Have you ever tried to catch a fly with chopsticks? It's hard.

Ninjas rule too. Did you know that construction workers in Japan wear Ninja shoes at work? It's true. How awesome is that?

Man, you're gonna let a drawer full of boring ol' Costco socks come in between you and a pair of badass ninja shoes?

These are shoes with a special utility, and so goes for the socks you wear with them.

What if you need to traverse a steel girder high above a city street? Ninja shoes would be pretty handy in this situation. What if you need to sneak stealthily through the shadows and ambush an adversary? Are you going to rely on your bargain brand Costco socks and shoes for this? I don't think so.

What if you bring shame to your family by publically embarassing yourself in a local Tacoma eatery and the only way to make amends for your transgression is ritual disembowelment? Are you going to plunge that Japanese steel into your bowels wearing a pair of boring ol' Costco socks and some dirty run-down shoes?

Think about it friend.

RR Anderson is one of the most curious characters in the UFO lore and the history of underground cartooning. He fought bizarre underground beings in the caves of Alaska, was wounded by a laser before it was invented, and had a background with the clandestine branch of the Tacoma Cartoonists Society.
