please consider joining me of your own free will and together we shall forge our will upon the land... and thus:BLOW THE PEOPLE'S FRIGGIN' MINDS!
And hopefully trigger some civilian unrest through the mental process called THE LIBERAL ARTS as realized through the glory of sidewalk chalk. And now: YOUR MOMENT OF ZEN

by Mofo from the Hood on 3/8/2009 @ 11:33pm | The B.S. you get away with in Tacoma might be okay with the Tacoma Art Museum but just remember, you're under supervision of the Community Programs Coordinator.
Watch out for black helicopters! |
by Mofo from the Hood on 3/8/2009 @ 11:50pm | Special Request: Draw a Community Programs Coordinator with SUPERVISION. |
by intacoma on 3/9/2009 @ 6:55am | you getting paid?
Yeah that supervised line is duuuuumbbbbb, sounds like you should bust out the giant chalk penis |
by NineInchNachos on 3/9/2009 @ 6:53pm | Knowing that I will be out there drawing on the Tacoma Art Museum is payment enough. Hopefully we'll negotiate a worthy prize for the chalk winner. Usually our favorite divorce lawyer does this... yet I still need to bring all this up at the next secret CLAW meeting and hopefully get a quorum of interested members.
You should come down and do the wikichalk thing in Tollefson intacoma! |
by morgan on 3/9/2009 @ 8:41pm | Awesome.
RR: Is TAM aware of your "history?" I see that they reserve the "right" to "terminate" your contract at any time. I hope you can chalk fast! |
by NineInchNachos on 3/9/2009 @ 8:59pm | "history" is hot right now. The people are angst ridden and desire champions to articulate their rage. Never underestimate hardship as a unifying force. www.flickr.com/photos/rldock/sets/721575... |
by Erik on 3/10/2009 @ 6:59am | Nice work RR and CLAW!
Sounds like the chalk challenge found a new venue to perform in, at least for this event. The plaza could work well for chalking with all of the people coming in and out of the Tacoma Art Museum and the superior concrete. |
by Dave_L on 3/10/2009 @ 12:22pm | Maybe it can be the impetus to pay to get Julian Beever to come over the pond and learn how you guys do it Tacoma-style. |
by NineInchNachos on 3/10/2009 @ 10:25pm | just got back from the secret CLAW meeting.
CLAW has agreed to launch the Frost Park Chalk Challenge at the Tacoma Art Museum event. CLAW will be a chalking force to be reckoned with. |
by Erik on 3/15/2009 @ 4:55pm | Maybe it can be the impetus to pay to get Julian Beever to come over the pond and learn how you guys do it Tacoma-style.
One can hope. However, I think Julian charges over 5 figures a chalking. |
by Erik on 4/19/2009 @ 9:33am | Dang. The Tacoma Art Museum Draw Event is today at noon to 5. I wonder what the prize will be? |
by NineInchNachos on 4/19/2009 @ 11:12am | bring sunscreen! fez optional (its really hot) |
by NineInchNachos on 4/19/2009 @ 2:46pm |
(cute hipster chicks)
|
by Adam the Alien on 4/19/2009 @ 5:55pm | Andrea and I got there apparently just after R.R. left. But we were there, and we chalked. Video forthcoming. |
by UnstableArt on 4/19/2009 @ 7:27pm | Yeah, I brilliantly forgot my camera this morning. That sucked not only because I was incapable of snapping some chalky memorabilia, but I didn't get a picture taken of me in a snazzy stormtrooper outfit. Adam graced the Art Museum plaza with his wily, trademark alien heralded by an army of chalk soldiers, and I drew a baby blue she-rex with the wings of Hermes upon her clawed feet. Sorry we missed you, RxR and Erik, but happily Stowe, Dawn, and Mark were still sticking around when we got there. |
by NineInchNachos on 4/19/2009 @ 8:24pm | baby max got hot and we had to jet. also no decent black charcoal. Hopefully mark got some good pics! |
by Erik on 4/19/2009 @ 9:16pm | Very cool. Did anyone win the prize? I look forward to seeing the video. |
by Thorax O'Tool on 4/19/2009 @ 10:47pm | RR, you got permission?
Not a bad way at all to gain their trust. I await Phase 3, when the real fun begins! Seems that Banksy beat you to Phase 3, so it should be interesting to see what CLAW can cook up. hubpages.com/hub/Banksy-Zorro-of-the-Art... |
by Dave_L on 4/20/2009 @ 1:23am | Spent the afternoon at the Spring Fair, but we stopped by TAM n the evening to see all the nice work. |
by NineInchNachos on 4/20/2009 @ 1:01pm | The stadium drum line, DJ and Fab Five breakers added an exciting element to the chalking. The TAM solar oven plaza has primo smooth concrete... a pleasure to defile with colorful urban folk art.
a bit of wisdom for Thorax I read recently... Q: what is the fastest way to eliminate an enemy? A: make them a friend. |
by Thorax O'Tool on 4/20/2009 @ 4:57pm | The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
And the friend of my enemy is Peter Cetera. |
by Adam the Alien on 4/21/2009 @ 9:36pm | I've finally got my video of the whole shindig up:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqVLz-JV__w Sorry for the delay, but there were problems related to the fact that YouTube royally screwed the pooch and deleted my account without cause. Apparently some asshats were running around mass-flagging YouTube videos on various channels to get the accounts of the video owners automatically banned. All is well, now, however - my account is back and the video -though delayed is up. |
by NineInchNachos on 4/21/2009 @ 9:53pm | adam the alien hits another home run. nice work buddy |
by Dave_L on 4/22/2009 @ 12:11am | Thanks, Adam, the evening is now complete. Nice vid and nice coordination of the wonderful soundtrack, and good sturmtruper content. Plus, Macaulay's a hero. |
