Tacoma - March 15th: Nine inches of global warming in my pants

5views dot com companion reader

global warming is real.  There's no debate. Global warming kills billions of harp seals each second. But Harp seals have another natural enemy: CANADA. CANADA kills TRILLIONS of baby harp seals each centon. Tell the government that global warming and seal hunts must end. What is more, Scientists agree that creationists are nincompoops living a fantasy.

Christ in a Dump Truck

Even the pope agrees that humans cause global warming and that evolution is real.  YOU, SON HAD BETTER GET REAL. BECAUSE SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN.   HE KNOWS WHEN YOU'RE AWAKE.  HE KNOWS IF YOU'VE BEEN BAD OR GOOD SO BE GOOD FOR CHRIS' SAKE.

Not only will technology harden hearts and enslave minds, technology will be the key to human DE-EVOLUTION (D.E.V.O.).   So act now while our operators are standing by and Pull the wool over your OWN EYES!

sorry about the double post. I assure you it was kevin's fault.

Oh for the love of...!
Look. Whether you're an evolution-science or creation-science egghead, or not any kind of an egghead at all, if everyone adopts some garden variety attitude of reasonably decent environmental stewardship, we all win--global warming or no global warming. Why must the Darwin fans persist in slamming on the creationists/intelligent-designy folks, and vice-versa? That's so totally 20th century!
PS: Effective post though--reminds us to pay attention to the state of the environment--I'm all for that Mr. NiN!

Actually, creationists and global-warming believers have a lot in common. They share an irrational belief of an unprovable hypothesis that defies all objective observations. The two camps should get along quite nicely.

We were going to have better science, but the CIA made the nasa carbon detecting satellite crash into the Antarctic ocean... part of THE CONSPIRACY to keep humans enslaved and working toward their own destruction.

Scientific American, NOVA and Carl Sagan all say that global warming is real so sorry Twisty, I guess you're on the wrong side of history.

ps. judges19,

creation-science is a contradiction in terms.

let me fix your two science categories so you wont embarrass people anymore..

instead of saying "evolution-science" just say "science"

and when you refer to what you call "creation-science" just say "magic, voo-doo, harry potter, supernatural, legend" or "hokus pokus"

judges19, actually is so totally 19th century; maybe you were born in the wrong time period? Just look towards Europe for some common sense (well, at least in this case): www.assembly.coe.int/Main.asp?link=/Docu...

A quote from the above that I like to re-read from time to time: "The total rejection of science is definitely one of the most serious threats to human rights and civic rights." Makes me feel warm inside... or maybe is the chili I had for dinner, not sure.

I think judges19 makes an excellent point that sort of got lost in translation: if everyone adopts decent environmental stewardship, we all win.

I think judges19 just means to stay stop arguing philosophy/beliefs and start being responsible to our environment.

Which I have to agree with.

I dont think Miguel is putting judges down as much as he is boosterheading the European Union.

And rightly so. The EU kicks all kinds of ass... and that's not even mentioning their amazing passenger rail system.

Actually her point didn't got lost, but making fun of tree lovers stopped being cool in the 70s, while making fun of religion never gets old.

As per the EU, I would not trust them with my first born. Just look at them!

Maybe with the second, and only if he develops tendencies to become a chalk artist.

Newton's laws of motion: Science.
Einstiens theories of relativity and special relativity: Better science. (more evolved science)

ah...but the 2 are still not reconciled.

Seems like science needs more evolution.

Steven Hawking: good scientist.
Steven Hawking quote: "the question is not whether God created the universe, the question is why"

Altered Chord: piano player
Altered Chords quote: "In the beginning God created the big bang"
Altered Chords quote: "burning petroleum producs pollutes the air, makes the globe hot and takes money out of my hands and places it in the hands of extremely wealthy people that were lucky enough to live on top of a pile of sand with dead trees and dead dinosours underneath of it."

Science = Progress Toward Stopping Global Warming.

As if by cosmic accident, in recent years Man the Scientist has evolved at a speed that is empirically verifiable. The most notable and visible evolutionary step has been in the arena of global warming. When leading scientists deduced a key global warming cause–methane gas traceable to domestic dogs–government agencies did what they do best–regulate the behavior of men (reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw on a dog the other day: "Watch my ass not hers.").
