Downtown Gets Gospel
Like a new wine bar isn't enough, downtown will also be getting some gospel and jazz. Located in the short lived La Costa spot at 928 Pacific, STEPHANIE'S GOSPEL AND JAZZ should add some life and soul to the dark underbelly that is the North Park Parking Garage. At least until the city tears it down (please!). Until then, I can't wait to see Stephanie's!

You seem to have the inside scoop. |

![]() by Erik on 8/12/2008 @ 12:07pm | BTW. There's another "scoop" to be had adjacent to Hal of a Sub. Across from Frost Park. A new business is moving in. Some kind of furniture store. |

![]() by Erik on 8/13/2008 @ 8:40pm | Here they come. Hope they can stay open long enough to at least get a review this time: So it's a good thing that Steven Ling, who plans on opening Stephanie's Gospel and Jazz in downtown Tacoma sometime in mid to late September, is close friends with Aikin. She was one of the first people he called once he got the keys to the restaurant space. He also called musician Michael Powers. "(Michael) said let me know when you open up, I’ll be there," said Steven when I talked to him on the phone a few minutes ago. The location for Stephanie's is a familiar one for restaurants. It's the old La Costa restaurant at 928 Pacific Avenue. Another restaurant had a short life there. Gringo de loco closed in May after being open for about a week. blogs.thenewstribune.com/tntdiner/?blog=... |

Contractors office at the southern edge of the garage. The city is to close on this property no later than October 6th 2008 |

Destroy (or renovate) the North Park Plaza Parking Garage!!! ![]() A life sucking abyss in the heart of the city. Perhaps this should be a campaign question in the next city hall election cycle. |
![]() by Jake on 9/15/2008 @ 9:23pm | If atleast 15 stories can't be built on top of the garage it should be demolished. 57,000 square feet of prime DCC land on downtowns main drag should not be wasted by adding a few more floors on top of the garage. |
