Bakeries Are Bringing Back Homemade Goodness
One bite of spongy, moist cake instantly captivates tastebuds, bringing sweet memories to life, like those birthday cakes baked with love by grandma.
These days, it seems the sweet treats that once seduced the noses of reverent children into the kitchen for fresh-baked goodies have been pushed aside by the corporate world. People are too busy to bake. So, as the rest of the planet focuses on computer screens and filling cabinets, Reina Miller has a spatula in hand, baking delectable coconut, lemon and red velvet cupcakes at her new store, Hello, Cupcake, on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma. She's one of many bakery owners throughout the South Sound keeping homemade goodness real.
