19 New Flags Planned for UW Tacoma Campus

Is it possible to show a little more school spirit at the UW Tacoma campus downtown? The university thinks so. According to next week's City of Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission meeting agenda, a university official is scheduled to present a design review application to add 19 new flags to buildings throughout the campus. The landmarks commission is reviewing it because the campus exists within the Union Depot / Warehouse Historic District.

I really love having quality visuals like this around town though. My favorites are the lit shooting stars for the holiday though the other stuff like DB's poem banners along Broadway are cool. Not a fan of those clip-art looking commerce related ones though. Maybe around the museums it'd be cool to commission local artists to create banners. One banner per artist.
