Lakewood Police Memorial

Photos from the Dome District

I was in the Dome District earlier today to photograph the procession of law enforcement officers attending this afternoon's memorial for the four Lakewood police officers killed Nov. 29. Here are some photos from a somber scene outside the Tacoma Dome . . .

I went down and watched the procession this morning. It was extremely moving. Currently at home watching on the TV, with red blurry eyes. Such a tragedy. These brave officers will be missed.

My daughter and I stood at the corner of Steilacoom BLVD and Lakewood DR to watch the procession. I cried my eyes out. the silence and the emotions around us were AMAZING! My heart goes out to the families. ♥♥♥♥

DumpsterDivingDiva, you may have seen it, but on Hipkins, between Steilacoom Blvd. and 104th, just about every sign, fence, and mailbox has a blue balloon flying. Misc. other touching memorials still on display.

Why do bad things happen to good people?

@Dave. I'll go check it out. How's your mom? You'll have to give me your # or email. Two nights ago there was a van parked by your mom's bushes and when I drove up they put their brights on and drove off. I followed them and got their license plate #.

Sorry you all have to read this. I just had to tell Dave what's going on around his moms' house. I'm her neighbor and I'm the neighborhood watch out beeeutch. lol

Hi Guys.

finally thinking about doing a lakewood officer tacomic from the standpoint of victim's family lawsuit...

What do you guys think about this?

I'll be curious to see how this works out for you, NIN. If anyone can pull it off it would be you. Probably just stay on the safe side and do something on how Daniel Blue was pushed from Tacoma.

the tacomic I have in mind is a commentary about the pierce county residents (TNT commenters) who feel 'betrayed' that they are being sued after they donated to the kids scholarship fund and put a stuffed animal in a pile under the lakewood sign.

Those people at the TNT comments section are a strange lot. They probably got worked up over the 911 widows as well. Perhaps the TNT people will consent to having the "Goddess of Commerce" rebranded as the Fallen Officers Memorial and have it placed outside the coffee shop in Lakewood. Then they can feel they have done everything possible to help the families of the fallen officers.
