I wonder what it will look like at night!

|This has me thinking... where is this plaza they speak of? I see a fantastic LEED-certified building that is one more nail in "blighted-Tacoma's" coffin. But I certainly don't see a "plaza [noun], a public square or open space in a city or town"
Just thought I'd share my thoughts this morning...

|Speaking of which, can we rename North Park Plaza to "North Park Zit"??
I mean really, that's what it is. It's a clogged pore on the face of downtown Tacoma - who's with me?!

In my dictionary, definition two is "A shopping center."
Positive change to North Park Plaza is a long way off, and that's as it should be. We need to see if the new Pacific Plaza actually works, drawing retail and thus traffic to the area before throwing more money into the same hole. Aside from which renovations to the North building will be drastically more disruptive as it would sabotage the city's primary transit hub for longer than we can afford.

|...and our park. We'd need to move the Chalk off to like Tollefson or something.|

|Tollefson would cost ya a bundle, Thorax. City plazas are not for free anymore. What if everybody would just go ahead and use Tollefson?? Mayhem!|
by thriceallamerican on 6/26/2009 @ 1:29pm
|Do people actually get kicked out of Tollefson for random chalk-art gatherings or impromptu musical stylings?|

|According to Vy, Chamber of Commerce's half time Tollefson plaza event coordinator, happenings at the plaza without permit are not permissible and you would be considered a trespasser. Joanne Buselmeier from the chamber told the city council that artists can perform for free during one the Chambers official events.
The plaza should be bustling anytime soon now, right?

ZOMG!!! TO'T breaking the law!!!! I sat there like two months ago with my sister... that's a "group". And we were talking... that's a "happening". Quick, officer! Issue those citations!
A public space, owned and paid for by the taxpaying citizens that you can't use. Seriously, F-that.
Hey Chamber of Commerce:
I will chalk at Tollfeson Whenever and wherever I feel like it. And short of a sniper up on the Convention Center, ain't nothing you can do to stop me.

|Seriously? The whole reasion the CoC is in charge of programming that space is because it is so dead. Let's not lose focus on the entire purpose of programming a space: to bring life and activity to the area.|
If the very act of managing that space is resulting in suppressing publicly-organized events and activities, I'd say the CoC is failing in their charge to bring life to this area, and as such should be fired from the position of 'bringing-life-to-Tollefson-plaza' ...

|I think people will come from miles around to see that fancy sign. Surely this will put Tacoma on the map. I was skeptical before but now I see a brighter day for Tacoma.|

|the blue vertical lines and ovals of the logo kinda reminded me of this:
