TDI Photo Safari VII

Who's up for another installment of the TDI Photo Safari? Me, too. OK, let's do this.

Best letter to the editor ever?

A new 'Mercedes Benz of Tacoma' dealership opened yesterday. Too bad it's in Fife.

New York Times Crossword Puzzle, November 10, 2011, 44 (Down). "City on Commencement Bay."

More junk mail at TDI world headquarters.

A transit term that is new to me.

The building inside the building. Background info here and here and here.

Earlier photo safaris here and here and here and here and here and here.

I've seen the "DEADHEAD" bus route a few times on buses going down Pacific and one heading north on I-5 near the Tacoma Mall. Not sure what's up with that. :S

Deadhead buses are surplus buses that they stage around the city, there are usually a few at Tacoma Dome station, and some at 10th and Commerce. For whatever reason they are showing 'Deadhead' when before they said 'Sorry Not in Service.'

But the again, it could be some kind of new bus route type.

I asked a driver the other day if anything is going on with the fueling station on South Tacoma Way, and they said as far as they know the investigation is still ongoing.

The building replica was created to commemorate the demise of the Luzon...this building luckily will undergo rejuvenation and shine again!

Any news articles come to mind ixia? ...or, what exactly will be done with it?

Deadhead actually means the bus is going to its destination. Example when a bus leaves the Pierce Transit base first thing in the morning it “deadheads” on its way to its starting point or even “deadheads” back to base.

Example, when the bust for Puyallup's 495 leaves the base it Deadheads to its starting point and then runs the route!

Hope that hepls!
