Update -- Tacoma's Green Skyline

I noticed earlier this morning that the Pacific Plaza rooftop is starting to take shape. I shot a photograph and then saw Kevin posted a comment asking for an update. Here is how it looks today . . .

I wish I had a better lens. There are actually tall purple plants now . . .

Come to think of it, I wish I knew something (anything!) about plants/flowers. Anyone?

To recap: this is what it looked like in JANUARY (not June, my mistake) . . .

Can we transplant the Luzon tree over there?

The middle zone on the roof will be a 'meadow' with grasses, wildflowers and assorted sedums and the side zones will be lower and made up entirely of various sedums. The roof should take about 18 months to completely fill it. The roof is being irrigated with rainwater that is captured from the roof (the toilets are also being flushed with rainwater as well).

Don't let my dog see this... the last thing he needs is to know there's a new piece of Tacoma he hasn't yet pooped on, and I don't think he's a very good climber...
