Interested? Learn a little more about the pieces…
Venetian Angels by Erin M. Ceragioli: With original costumes painted by Dale Chihuly, choreography by Erin M. Ceragioli, and music composed by Elizabeth Naccarato, Venetian Angels is truly a collaboration of local artists.
Adnama by Travis Goldman: Adnama, originally choreographed in 1997, explores the intricate relationship between the slower melody and faster countermelody in Bach’s work. With Adnama, Travis managed to create a musical ballet that bridges both counterparts beautifully.
20 by Joel Myers: 20 is a contemporary work featuring the music of Seattle-based producer/musician, Buddy Ross. The movement is created collaboratively with the dancers using a number of phrase manipulation techniques.
For Suzy by Travis Goldman: For Suzy is a new work, and a new challenge. Instead of following the lead of a composer in determining “what the music looks like,” Travis is composing the music as well as the choreography; this is a first. Travis feels this is his first complete solo work, as he is creating both the music and the dance.
Songs for My Father by Joel Myers: The movement style in Songs for My Father comes from the impression that early Ailey, Taylor, and Byrd works left on Joel. The music is a combination of traditional gospel songs and original pieces performed live by Alex Tapia.
Grand Hotel by Joel Myers: Grand Hotel is a lighthearted comic ballet set in a lovely old hotel where you are just as likely to witness a pratfall as a pas de deux. You will find starry-eyed maids, bumbling bellhops, an aloof heiress, and much more at this Grand Hotel.
Whalesong by Erin M. Ceragioli: Originally choreographed in 1990,Whalesong is performed under a 60’ by 60’ piece of silk, accompanied by the sounds of the Humpback whales. Inspired by the ocean-like movement of the silk, this innovative ballet evokes images of whales in their natural environment. Whalesong was selected for the Gala Performance by the Regional Dance America/Pacific organization, a great honor.
