‘It’s all about the dress’ Goodwill sale April 16

Great selection in all sizes and just in time for prom season

Prom and party dresses, along with accessories, shoes and jewelry, will be featured at an “It’s All About The Dress” sale April 16. It’s an opportunity for parents and young adults to get great value for purchases heading into the spring events season.

The sale will take place 9 a.m.-9 p.m. in store space adjacent to Tacoma Goodwill’s North Tacoma Store, 5401 Sixth Ave. in the Sixth Avenue Place shopping center. Prom dresses will be available starting at $39.99. Popular dress and tuxedo designs from the best Goodwill has to offer will fill the clothing racks. “This is a fun way for families to participate with the best values available at a one-day event,” said Goodwill President & CEO Terry A. Hayes, who urged people to come early. “We listened to our customers and put our best items in one place – perfect for proms, weddings and other special occasions.”

Hayes said the “prom store” would likely be well received after the success of the agency’s Christmas stores, which were the first Goodwill stores of their type to open nationwide. More than 140,000 shoppers purchased items at those stores during the holiday season. Proceeds from the dress sale support Goodwill’s job training and placement activities.

About Tacoma Goodwill

Goodwill is a unique nonprofit business. It turns donations and business revenue into programs that change lives by helping people with disabilities or disadvantages go to work. This year, Tacoma Goodwill Industries will help 9,500 people with education, job training and placement so they can become independent self-supporting citizens. Of these, more than 1,200 people with barriers to employment will be placed in jobs in the community.
