Local soccer club gets wired for 2011
Tacoma, WA---Tacoma, Washington, is one of the most wired cities in America and Tacoma Tide FC are working to align themselves with their home town's high tech edge. Recently the six-year old United Soccer Leagues side debuted a partnership with www.BrownPaperTickets.com to not only sell Tide tickets online, but to also allow fans to download tickets to their mobile devices and use them for entry at the Stadium Bowl gates. Now the Tide have undergone a renovation of sorts with www.TacomaFC.com and their various social media pages.

The official website of Tacoma Tide FC since 2006, TacomaFC.com continues to get tweaked even as a stream of news and features are being produced in preparation for the 2011 season. The Demosphere-hosted site has the full 2011 Tacoma Tide FC schedule, information about the upcoming (April 2 &3) Open Tryouts, a look at the club's new home at Stadium Bowl, a feature interview with head coach Gerry Gray, and more.
The Tide have one of the fastest growing Facebook pages in all of the United Soccer Leagues. The club has seen its 'friends' jump over 10% in just the last two months alone, to over 2,100.
The Tide use their Facebook page to post news, photos, videos and links, and to interact with their fans and 'friends.' There is something new every day. Recently the page also starting posting news and links from the greater Tacoma soccer community.
The Tide recently debuted an updated Twitter page, and are looking to grow their number of followers. The quick news page will feature match updates when the season begins as well as special announcements and messages for supporters.
The Tacoma Tide YouTube Channel was just updated with the first official social media video promotion by the club for 2011.
In one of America's most wired cities, Tacoma Tide FC are carving out a stronger, collaborative presence for themselves in an effort to reach more fans and grow their audience in South Puget Sound.
“We know that Tacoma is a sophisticated online market,” Tide General Manager John Callaway says. “We are concentrating on making our various websites and pages meaningful to fans. It is one way we can put out a welcome mat and introduce ourselves to Tacoma-area sports and soccer fans who might not have heard much about us before.”
“We will follow up our internet outreach with handshakes and in-person touches when we kick off on May 13th,” Callaway concludes.

|Thanks for crediting the Pythian Lodge along with the use of their cool photo! The Lodge will have to organize a Pythian outing for a game! (Perhaps a Pythian/C.L.A.W. outing?)|
